Mirror neurons work best in real life, when people are face to face. Virtual reality and videos are shadowy substitutes.

we fall in and out of love so easy just like a dying light bulb, not sure whether it's on or off, beating like a slow old heart. it casts shadows on each beat to keep rodents at bay. fear is often considered more basic than love. i don't think one can exist in a world without the other. humans mimic through empathy, we love through empathy, we fear though it, we learn with it. it may be the single most important human characteristic. our overdeveloped empathy. our imagination and consideration regarding that outside ourselves. when man ceases to consider that which is outside himself, he loses his most human characteristic. selfishness may be a part of human nature, but it is not humanity's alone. in fact it may be the most primal and prehistoric of his traits, not something to be rewarded like our society teaches. who do we wish to honor, the asshole or the considerate? sometimes i just don't know about people and their ideas.

social constructions are often viewed as a means to separate humans from animals.

i was wondering, if nobody had secrets, would there be such a thing as arrogance?

while individuals say that 'selfishness' is part of human nature, ipso facto from the historical continuancy of it (thus reifying it into a 'natural law' of their own epistemology), one tends to overlook that countervaling forces, i.e. alturism, communial living, are just as historically prevalent. What biases their opinions towards the former and not the latter, well.....i think marx once said it best. To paraphrase, the ruling ideologies are the ideologies of the ruling class. Simple, potent, effective, dont think too much about it!!!or else youll loose your position in the functioning of the culture indistry and post-fordist landscape of a deteriorating empire (i.e. America, though everything changes, so to assume there is any sort of historical nessicity of this collapse is a farse, all things intermingle, and all futures are open by the very fact that they are determined, determined by their own subjectivity and by their interaction with the multiple subjects around them, thus the concept of a subject loses focus (in a singular sense, maybe one can still speek of subjectS).

dear cj,
for the past (x) weeks you have suggested to me to watch 'you and me and everyone we know.' so i constantly go to the end of the alphabet in any and every movie store to look for 'you and me and everyone we know.' no one had it. odd. maybe because it is titled 'ME AND YOU and everyone we know.' so i finally saw it. but it is no longer my fault that it took so long. you are the blame-holder.
